The report was presented by the UN Secretary-General in accordance with General Assembly resolution 70/1, using data from more than 50 international and regional organizations. The data presented is based on a global indicator system developed by an inter-institutional expert framework on development goal (SDG) indicators.

The process of implementation and achievement of the SDGs is under constant monitoring by both UN representatives and the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The report provides a global overview of progress on the SDGs since 2015.

The report's authors consistently find that over the past 12 months, only 15% of SDG targets are on track, nearly half are progressing or making moderate progress, and more than a third have stalled or regressed.

The COVID-19 pandemic, a growing number of factors, geopolitical tensions, and the ongoing impacts of climate change in securing SDG funds.

In the subsequent period, the gap in per capita income between the poor and the rich will increase and a variety of restorations will occur. Progress in education remains a major concern.

The goal of achieving democratic equality by 2030 is also of interest because progress has been very limited and the level of war against women and girls around the world remains high.

Progress in technology

Among the indicators that can be seen as a positive key is the development of information and communication technologies.

The number of fixed broadband Internet connections continues to grow at a steady pace, growing at an average annual rate of 6.4% between 2015 and 2023, reaching 19 connections per 100 inhabitants in 2023 globally.

About 67% of the world's population, or 5.4 billion people, will be online in 2023. 4.7% more than in 2022.

Kazakhstan is among the countries that have committed to fulfilling the UN development goals, and planning for their achievements in 2024 was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan in January this year.

The EDF Internet Governance Forum (Qazaqstan IGF) is a dialogue between Swiss countries, civil society, the business community, international organizations and other stakeholders to ensure their quality participation in order to achieve the result of 9 goals: “Creating sustainable employment, ensuring inclusive and sustainable industrialization." and innovation."

As a result of the Forum, experts developed recommendations regarding human rights, as well as the development of Internet technologies.
