The event took place on June 26-27, 2024 in Almaty, where Teaching Professor at the Higher School of Law at Maqsut Narikbayev University and Academic Advisor at the Eurasian Digital Foundation Dana Utegen also took part.
The event included a “Digital Security Workshop: Providing journalists with practical tools, methods and knowledge to protect their data and personal safety from digital security risks.”
The goals of the workshop are to help media professionals:
- develop risk mitigation strategies and protocols to prevent cyber attacks;
- protect your information, data privacy, devices and communication channels from digital risks;
- counteract online harassment.
In addition to providing digital know-how and resources/tools, the workshop addressed gender, psychosocial and physical security dimensions.
The event was also attended by experts from the European Union and CIS countries, as well as representatives of the OSCE.
