Last week, the user "emo" posted the full database of the BreachForums forum on the Telegram messenger. This forum, which operated from 2022 to 2023, was known for its activities in the field of malware and stolen data trading.

The FBI arrested the administrator of this forum, Conor Brian Fitzpatrick, last year. It is known that there were supposedly 15 hackers registered on BreachForums from Kazakhstan.

The Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyberattacks (TSARKA) is actively analyzing the leak and emphasizes the seriousness of the situation. The founder of TSARKA Group Olzhas Satiev noted that the data that ended up in the hands of hackers includes information taken from a backup of Fitzpatrick's database:

"At the moment, law enforcement agencies already have this database."

The leak includes data up to November 29, 2022, and contains user IDs, hashed passwords, private messages, and cryptocurrency addresses used to purchase forum credits.

This data could be used for further cyberattacks, raising serious concerns among cybersecurity experts.

Particularly alarming is the fact that data from Kazakhstani users of Yandex Food and Fonbet, as well as students and applicants to Shakarim University, was leaked. This information could also be used by attackers.

In addition, data from B2B 2GIS Kazakhstan and the transport and logistics company Spark were leaked.

Among the leaked data are messages from forum participants, one of which indicates that an important Kazakhstani bank was hacked, which indicates the need for continuous monitoring and improvement of cybersecurity measures at both the company and state levels.

In addition to Kazakhstan, the leak affected Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. Experts emphasize the importance of implementing and maintaining strict cybersecurity measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In the face of growing cyber threats, protecting personal information is becoming a priority for all organizations and Internet users.

TSARKA encourages all Internet users to update their passwords and take additional security measures to ensure the safety of their data.
