Digital services for foreign citizens have been significantly expanded in Kazakhstan: the QazETA mobile app is being launched, which will combine government services, tourism, transport and starting a business online.
The app was developed as part of the initiatives of the Ministry of Digital Development. Minister Zhaslan Madiyev announced the project at a government meeting, emphasizing the importance of digital onboarding for foreigners.
QazETA provides access to visa and migration services, including visa processing and registration at the place of stay. This should reduce bureaucratic barriers and speed up entry procedures.
In the tourism sector, the app offers information on attractions, tours, hotel reservations and ticket purchases, making traveling around Kazakhstan more comfortable.
In addition, QazETA has built-in functions for communication and logistics: purchasing SIM cards, renting cars, ordering a taxi, as well as payment and public transport schedules.
Particular attention is paid to the "Business and Investments" section. The app gives users access to Astana Hub, AIFC and other B2B services, making Kazakhstan more attractive to digital entrepreneurs.
The Security block contains emergency contact information, as well as information on medical care, which is especially important for foreign guests.
The QazETA app is available in the Play Market since July 15, 2025, and is expected to be available in the App Store by the end of the month. The project is being implemented in a pilot format.
In the fall, QazETA will have two key functions: ETA — an electronic entry permit for citizens of visa-free countries, and E-residency — digital residency for starting a business remotely.
The E-residency function is inspired by the examples of Estonia and Seychelles. In our case, it will also allow foreigners to register in the AIFC jurisdiction without coming to Kazakhstan and manage their business remotely.
Legal development is being carried out to launch the new functions, and the project is supervised at the government level as part of the country's digital transformation.
Thus, tourists, migrants and foreign investors will soon be offered more convenient digital tools for onboarding.
