Kazakhstan’s new AI law defines artificial intelligence as an informatics object and a tool for achieving human goals. It introduces principles of accountability, legality, transparency, data protection, and human-centricity.
Owners and users of AI products are liable for safety, risks, and outcomes. AI-generated products must be labeled. A national AI platform will support development and testing.
A companion law regulates digital assets and limits personal data retention. In this legislation, EDF recommendations were taken into account, banning manipulative and biometric AI systems without consent.
