A new Microsoft report on AI development and adoption in 2025 covers 147 countries. Among post‑Soviet states, Lithuania leads (41st place, 21% of the population using AI), followed by Georgia (53rd, 17.3%), Moldova (58th, 16.6%), and Azerbaijan (64th, 14.2%).

Kazakhstan (71st, 12.7%) outperformed Ukraine (93rd, 9.1%), Russia (117th, 7.6%), Belarus (118th, 7.6%), Kyrgyzstan (119th, 7.6%), Armenia (138th, 7.6%), Uzbekistan (143rd, 5.7%), Tajikistan (145th, 5.1%), and Turkmenistan (146th, 5.1%).

Microsoft notes AI is the fastest‑adopted technology in human history, spreading quicker than the internet, PCs, or smartphones — reaching 1.2 billion users in just three years.

Adoption is uneven: in the “Global North” usage is roughly twice as high as in the “Global South,” due to infrastructure, income, and language. Half of AI‑generated content is in English, though only 5% of the world speaks it natively, leaving many other languages underserved.

The top three countries are the UAE (59.4%), Singapore (58.6%), and Norway (45.3%). The top ten also include Ireland, France, Spain, New Zealand, the UK, the Netherlands, and Qatar.

The US, despite controlling 53.7% of global AI infrastructure, ranks 23rd with 26.3% of adults using AI daily. China is 61st (15.4%), while Cambodia is last with 4.6%.

This rapid growth shows AI is spreading faster than any previous technological revolution.
